Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything?
Yes, once per tenant. Installing adds Redis to the Flow palette for everyone in the tenant, and needs the manage permission in Settings → Extensions.
What does Redis add to Flow?
10 actions, including Get, Set, Publish.
Where are my Redis credentials stored?
In your tenant’s configuration. Steps only hold references to them; at deploy the values are sealed for that deployment, and resolved values are never written to a job record.
Where does the extension’s code run?
In a Java connector runtime, outside the platform. The platform never loads the extension’s code, and its configuration panels run in a sandboxed frame.
Which platform version do I need?
Aletyx Platform 1.0 or later.
What happens when a new version comes out?
Installing it replaces the current version for every flow that uses it. The platform refuses an update that drops a step a deployed flow still uses.
Can I disable or remove it?
Yes, in Settings → Extensions, as long as no deployed flow still uses one of its steps.
